1. Introduction

Mitikasha LLC ("AegisPDF," "we," "us," or "our") operates AegisPDF, a browser-based tool for finding, redacting, OCR-processing, and merging PDF documents. AegisPDF is a product of Mitikasha LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we do, and do not, collect when you use the Service.

The defining principle of AegisPDF is that your documents are processed entirely on your own device, inside your browser. Your PDF files and their contents are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on our servers. We never see them.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

2.1 Your Documents

When you open a PDF in AegisPDF, all processing (text extraction, identifier detection, redaction, OCR, and merging) runs locally in your browser using code that executes on your device. The resulting file is saved directly from your browser to your computer. We do not receive, transmit, store, log, or have any access to your documents or the data inside them.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 License and Device Information

When you activate AegisPDF Pro, or join a Team, your browser generates a device key pair. The public half is sent to our licensing service and stored there with a device fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash of that public key) and a last-seen timestamp; the private half never leaves your device and cannot be read out, even by our own code. This is what binds a license to a device and enforces the device limit on your plan.

Your entitlement is deliberately short-lived, so the application re-verifies with our licensing service every few days. That check transmits your device fingerprint and a signature, and nothing else. Activation does not require an account, and no part of it transmits your documents.

3.2 Purchase Information

AegisPDF Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. When you purchase a license, Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full payment-card numbers. We receive limited order metadata (such as the purchaser email, order/license identifier, and product purchased) to issue and support your license.

3.3 Team and Seat Information

For an AegisPDF Team we store the team's subscription and order identifiers, the team admin's email, the number of seats purchased, one record per seat, and the join codes issued for those seats.

For each member we store only what a seat requires: the device fingerprints and public keys bound to that seat, the join code used, and last-seen timestamps. Members hold no account, and we never ask for a member's name or email address. To us, a member is a seat and a set of device fingerprints, nothing more.

3.4 Hosting & Technical Data

AegisPDF is delivered as static files, and its processing components (such as the OCR runtime) are served from our own first-party asset domains via our hosting provider. As with any website, our hosting provider processes standard request metadata (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for the purpose of securely delivering the application. This metadata is not linked to any document content (which we never receive) and is not used to build advertising profiles.

3.5 Licensing and Purchase Events

AegisPDF does not include third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. We do keep a content-free record of licensing and purchase events (an activation, a seat joining a team, a payment, a refund) so that a purchase which fails is diagnosable, and we record the marketing channel a purchase came from. These records hold identifiers, outcomes, and timestamps only. They never include your documents, their contents, or any identifier detected inside them.

3.6 Feedback You Send Us

AegisPDF includes an optional feedback form. If you choose to use it, we store what you write (your message, and an email address only if you supply one so we can reply) together with lightweight context: the same-origin page you sent it from and a truncated copy of your browser's user-agent string. This is saved in our database and used solely to read, understand, and act on your feedback. Providing an email is optional, it never includes your documents or anything inside them, and we keep it only as long as we need it to follow up.

4. How We Use Information

  • To deliver, maintain, and improve the AegisPDF application
  • To issue, validate, and support AegisPDF Pro licenses
  • To fulfil purchases and handle refunds (through Lemon Squeezy)
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To read and act on feedback you send through the feedback form
  • To administer Team subscriptions, seats, and join codes on behalf of a team admin
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or unauthorized license use
  • To comply with our legal and tax obligations

5. Data Sharing

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Lemon Squeezy: processes purchases and refunds as our Merchant of Record.
  • Hosting provider: delivers the static application and asset files.
  • Your team admin: if you use a Team seat, your admin can see the seat's status and how many devices are active on it, and can revoke the seat or release one of its devices. Admins never see your documents, anything you have processed, or the contents of your device.
  • Legal requirements: where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Mitikasha LLC, our users, or third parties.

We do not sell your personal information. Because we never receive your documents, there is no document data for us to share, lose, or disclose.

6. International Data Transfers

AegisPDF is operated from the United States. If you are located elsewhere, the limited account and purchase metadata described above may be processed in the US and in other countries where our service providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law (e.g. UK GDPR, EU GDPR).

7. Data Security

The application is served over encrypted connections (TLS). Because your documents are processed locally and never transmitted to us, the most sensitive data you handle in AegisPDF never traverses our infrastructure at all. The limited license and purchase metadata we hold is protected with industry-standard safeguards.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the limited personal data we hold about you (e.g. purchase email and license records)
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your purchase/license records, subject to legal and tax retention rules
  • Object to certain processing or withdraw consent

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@mitikasha.com. You can remove your locally stored license at any time by clearing AegisPDF's site data in your browser.

If you use a Team seat. Because members hold no account and no billing record, the only data we hold about you is your seat and the device fingerprints bound to it. You can delete a device's record yourself at any time by choosing "Sign out this device" in the app, which removes it from our licensing records. For access or deletion requests covering your seat, contact us at privacy@mitikasha.com, or ask your team admin, who can revoke the seat. Revoking a seat withdraws its access and removes its device records at the next verification. We may need to confirm a request with your admin, because we hold no other way to identify a member.

9. Data Retention

We retain purchase and license records for as long as needed to support your license and to meet tax and legal record-keeping obligations, after which they may be deleted. We retain no documents, because we never collect them.

Seats and teams. When a seat is revoked, or a team subscription ends, that seat's devices lose their entitlement at the next online verification, and each device's record is removed when it next checks in. The team's join codes stop working at the same time. A device that never reconnects leaves behind a revoked record (an entry marking that the device is no longer entitled) which you or your team admin can ask us to delete at any time. We retain a team's subscription and order records only as long as tax and legal record-keeping require.

10. Children's Privacy

AegisPDF is a professional tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
