Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AegisPDF (the "Service"), operated by Mitikasha LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. AegisPDF is a product of Mitikasha LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company with its principal place of business at 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.

If you accept these Terms on behalf of an organization (for example, by purchasing an AegisPDF Team subscription) you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" means that organization. A team admin is responsible for the members they issue seats to, and for those members' compliance with these Terms. Each member is also bound by these Terms by using the Service.

2. Description of Service

AegisPDF is a browser-based application for finding, redacting, OCR-processing, and merging PDF documents. All document processing runs locally on your device, inside your browser; your files are never uploaded to or stored on our servers. The Service offers a free tier, a paid AegisPDF Pro tier for individuals, and AegisPDF Team for organizations, which adds central seat management for a group of members.

3. Licenses and Tiers

3.1 Free, Pro, and Team

Core features are available at no charge. AegisPDF Pro unlocks advanced features and is offered as a recurring Subscription (billed monthly or yearly). A license key activates Pro on your device(s) in accordance with the purchased plan.

AegisPDF Team is a per-seat subscription purchased by a team admin, with a three-seat minimum. Each seat entitles one member to Pro features on up to three of their own devices. Members activate with a join code issued by the admin and need no account of their own. Throughout these Terms, the admin is the person who purchased and manages the team subscription; a member is a person using a seat on it.

3.2 Billing

AegisPDF Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record and handles payment processing, tax calculation, invoicing, and billing compliance. By purchasing, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms. Charges on your statement may appear as "Lemon Squeezy" or "LMSQUEEZY." Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

3.3 License Use

Your Pro license key is for your own use. You may not share, resell, sublicense, or publish it, or attempt to generate, tamper with, or circumvent license keys, join codes, or the Service's licensing and detection components.

For a Team, the admin may (and is expected to) distribute join codes to the members of their organization. A seat is for one person, on up to three of their devices. Seats may not be shared between people, pooled, passed around, or issued to anyone outside the admin's organization. The admin is responsible for who holds a seat on their team.

4. Your Documents and Responsibility

You retain all rights to the documents you process with AegisPDF; we never receive them. You are solely responsible for the documents you handle and for ensuring you have the right to view, redact, or modify them.

Redaction verification is your responsibility. AegisPDF's detection tools are designed to help you locate and remove sensitive information, but automated detection cannot be guaranteed to identify every instance of sensitive data in every document. You must review and verify the output before relying on or distributing any redacted document. AegisPDF provides tooling, not a guarantee of completeness, and does not provide legal advice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the Service's proprietary detection patterns, validators, or engine
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with licensing, security, or usage controls
  • Resell or redistribute the Service or your license key without authorization
  • Use the Service to infringe the rights of others or to process documents you are not authorized to handle

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, user interface, and its proprietary identifier-detection patterns, validators, and processing engine, is owned by Mitikasha LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership to you. You retain ownership of your own documents and their contents.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains that your documents are processed locally and never sent to us.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that automated detection will identify all sensitive content.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mitikasha LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or business opportunities, or for any sensitive information that remains in a document you failed to verify. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim. For an AegisPDF Team, that amount is the amount paid for the team subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim, and that cap applies in the aggregate to all claims arising from that team, whether brought by the admin or by a member.

10. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access or license if you materially violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time; uninstalling or clearing site data removes your local license.

Team seats. If you use AegisPDF under a Team seat, your access is granted through your team's subscription and is controlled by your team admin. The admin may revoke your seat, or release one of your devices, at any time. Access then ends at your next online verification. Your access also ends, for every seat on the team, if the team subscription is cancelled, lapses for non-payment, or is refunded. We act on the admin's instructions for the team they administer.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
